The couple was chaperoned on the date by two of the person's ex-partners.
When a random accident on the ski slope results in romance for one of the four close-knit friends, his lovelorn pals soon conclude that it was the stress of the event that helped to cement the instantaneous bond between the pair.
Soon convinced that the surefire way to find love is to plan a series of risky dates in which chaos is the key ingredient, the four friends find their plan coming frustratingly close to fruition before cooking up an elaborate kidnapping ruse that's sure to result in true love.
But the hired "kidnappers" turn out to be ex-cons with a plan of their own, and the extreme date escalates out of control. Lindsay (Amanda Detmer) and Daniel (Devon Sawa) work for an advertising agency.
The remaining friends must now rescue the captives, while desperately trying to avoid the long arm of the law. When the company gets a new client, Marshall Jackson (Meatloaf) they find he is a bit of a sticky wicket, since he informs them that if their work is not up to snuff, he will end their careers. Jackson is anxious to increase business at his ski resort, Lindsay, Daniel, and friends go to the place to get fresh ideas for their future ad pitch.
